Oh, like the govt cares about our health. Many of the govt agencies have us on so many of their toxins being pushed as "good for us". There are many quality supplement companies and they put their products thru strict tests and regulations. I know so many have no qualms about taking the toxic drugs with the mega side effects that come with them. People are a mystery.

At least drugs are somewhat regulated, as compared to supplements which have no regulation at all. People have no qualms about taking these highly processed, refined, and comcetrated roducts that can contain anything and usually have side effects and interactions with each other. The supplement addicts are always experimenting on their bodies with the latest supplement "cure".

Some what regulated and the outrageous cost of the toxic drugs. Look at the Epi Pen issue out in the face of the population now.

I'm not an addict and live with good health except for this G.D. advancing OA which I live with over 60 yrs. And a mess from a modern surgery done on the hip which came out pretty badly.
Last time I looked I couldn't find a supplement rehab facility, plenty of drug rehab facilities thou.

Management without drug side effects --- I'm all for that.

.Due to high blood pressure i had a mild stroke a few months ago, with prescribed medications my Blood pressure is now normal, i doubt your herbal potions would have had any success.we are playing with my life here i'm going to trust what the doctor prescribes rather than some glib infomercial huckster trying to sell me things like Mukta Vati, cayanne pepper, and other assorted potions.
While the government may not care for you i'm dealing with individual doctors and nurses and other healthcare professionals that do care about my condition.
As for drug rehab centers they usually deal with drugs other than prescription drugs such as crack ,heroine, alcohol if some one wants to get addicted to a prescription medication its not the fault of the prescription drug.

Wow, Jambo, glad those blood pressure meds did such a good job at lowering your blood pressure into normal ranges. Sometimes it takes a while to do that, with a trial and error of various combinations of medications to see what works best, and you go nuts with some side effects that bother you at first but most often settle down after a time.

Thank goodness for those meds, eh? Take care of yourself.

Oh they deal with pharma drugs too, vicodin is a major drug that causes many to go or not go to rehab. I have a family member and know that one.

I'm glad you are in control now, as I've said my issue keeping my BP elevated, was NSAID drug.

I take BP meds too and use supplements to help them along.

If it wasn't for the D.O. to push me I could have been a walking stroke. Nsaids have many possible side effects, including blood pressure issues.

Yes they do, as do many supplements. The difference is that the legit medications are tested and researched and updated as new research comes out. Not so with totally unregulated supplements.

$15 for 3 months of Quinaprel (it may be half that, I don't pay attention) and I have the blood pressure of a teenager.

I don't abuse things like advil, or other NSAIDS, heck, I don't even abuse my prescription of tramadol. Heck, one tramadol and day and I have barely any pain. No need for huge does of NSAIDS, or even natural remedies.

Heck, with those two meds I can run a half mile with barely any impact.

Why play around with "remedies" found on the internet?

I don't experiment with my health.

You have...

wait for it...

...HYPERTENSION.

And don't forget the sleep issues. You don't even make it through the night without having to take a bunch of supplemental stuff... sounds pretty dependent on substances to me.

BTW, most people who take "big pharma" medications are not addicts.

There have been several instances of addictive drugs being found in supplements.
