I have a teenage girl, I can't tell you how many times a day she changes her clothes then tries to throw them in the hamper. I'm talking she's at home, not doing anything to get dirty, just changed her mind about wearing them.[/quote]
Oh,my 3 year old just started doing that! She changes clothes 10 times a day.Even several times an hour!I have given up on neat drawers and just throw the clothes back in.
Anyway, when I'm at home I would wear the same pants for 2-3 days.At work however,a daily change would be needed!

Just wait until she changes her underwear with every pants change lol
I feel the need to clarify my earlier post -- I do not wear the same pants 3 days in a row to work!! But, I don't necessarily wash them in between wearing either. Nice wool pants or work trousers are simply hung back up in my closet until I wear them again. Jeans.....I will wear those two days in a row!!
i'm teasing (a little bit).
i'm quite clean, shower at least once a day and, like the daughter of one of the posters on this thread, sometimes change my clothes 4 or 5 times in one day .... not for cleanliness but because i change throughout the day and so feel the need to change my clothes too. I have clothes to walk my dog with, clothes to hang around in, clothes to go out in, etc.. etc.
i wonder if the daughter is a gemini sun? i am and it's a gemini trait .... changing clothes throughout the day.
However, i do think people tend to be a but hung up about this cleanliness thing and the hyper phobia regarding micro-organisms is actually compromising the immune system and peoples health.
Hubby probably wears his pants 2-3 times. Likewise for me but we change tops every day. Jeans more like 5 or so depending on how stretchy/dirty they are. I hate washing clothes and can find better ways to spend money than on drycleaners. We probably wash clothes every other week b'c we're both very lazy!

She's actually a Leo.
I like you also have clothes like that. Since I don't work, I have my house jeans which are a little ripped so I know they are for the house, painting jeans, gardening, then going out. Same thing with shirts, the house shirts might have bleach stains on them. House shirts will get changed every day, and while I might wear the painting jeans for the whole time I'm painting, the gardening jeans must get washed daily.

I don't mind washing clothes, and right now we have well water. Hubby is always screaming about the gas & electric being high. If we do move, we'll be paying for water which is not something either of us have ever done, so we have no clue how expensive it will be. I'm trying to get my daughter into the habit of hanging her clothes back up instead of throwing them in the laundry.

My mom (RIP) used to tell me to change my shorts everyday... "What if you are in accident " she would say... When I was about 16 she repeated the standard line and I responded' Well ma' I'd probably SH*** my pants anyhow so what does it matter" And yes I got a smack for a smrt mouth

Dang, I wish I had someone like you around!
Water bill isn't bad. We live in Phoenix and pay under $40/mo, usually around $35 (me and hubby) and Phoenix is considered high.
My Mom lives in TX and she pays I think around $10, definitely under $20/mo and that's a family of 4.
