The pharmacy product Anbesol (not sure what's in it) is good for temporary tooth pain as are ground cloves with or without the capsule, placed on the spot with the pain. Ground cloves can be bought in supermarkets spices section and encapsulated version from places that sell "dietary supplements".

Antibiotics weaken the immune system, probiotics strengthen the immune system. swansonvitamins.com has probiotics in various strengths at cheap to very reasonable prices and they even pay the postage if you return something for refund. Their website has many reviews.

I think the side effects of clindamycin are probably on drugs.com/ en.wikipedia.org/ & clindamycin.com/

Yes, I had to stop it. Had severe GI adverse reaction. But not the severe c-diff type. Also, not like my penicillin family reaction which was Anaphylaxis.

Tell your dentist you're afraid to take it because of your dad and he'll give you a different one. You don't even really NEED any A/B before a root canal unless you fall into that small category of people. And I've had a TON of dental work. My entire mouth.

Sorry I forget which A/B my dentist replaced the clindamycin with when I called and said I couldn't tolerate it. Probably a run of the mill Zpac. I forget if that was for extractions or implants.

I had the same problem with doxycycline I was prescribed for Lyme titer. OMG that one was horrible which is how I knew to stop the clindamycin immediately.

No, antibiotics do not "weaken the immune system".

You don't have to take it.

Medical advice is just a suggestion, not a sentence.
