SARS-CoV-2 arose in late November to early December in China.
Any symptoms anyone had before then were not due to COVID-19, and anyone who had symptoms in December or January without exposure to someone from China have a minuscule risk of having had it. Plenty of other viruses can make you miserable.

Watch this video starting at about 6:50. It supports a suspicion that I have had since late January of this year, but have heard no mention of on the national media....until today.
I watched this and instantly felt it was a confirmation of what I have known for 2 months, but had no way to prove. I also exploded emotionally with an overwhelming sense of relief....feeling very sure that I (and nearly everyone else I know in my corner of the world) has already had and successfully fought off Coronavirus before it became the most costly crisis anyone alive has ever seen.
It's possible that my grandchild had it the third week of January. Dry cough and high fever, lasted for a week+. The diagnosis was something viral.
If we are talking about having the corona virus earlier than what they said as when they had it, I definitely had it over New Years.
I know because I NEVER get colds. I haven't had a cold or fever since 2014. Then blam. I wake up with a 103 fever, cough and eventually lung congestion that my doctor thinks is pneumonia (but wasn't). It lasted for more than a week. Usually 3-4 days for any cold.
Then, though I recovered... I am having all kinds of strange symptoms. I am having a lowered WBC, occasional liver enzyme increase and then a monoclonal protein spike. What can cause all of these things? Viral infection.
The good news for the many elders I work with is that I was out sick for the entire work week and they were on vacation for Christmas holiday and several days after.
On Jan 10th my husband got sick with a fever, cough and body aches. He went to urgent care after a couple of days and was tested for flu (negative). The doctor said he had bronchitis and prescribed an inhaler, antibiotic, and steroid pack. He was better after a week or so, but his cough lasted a little longer. Then the week after he got sick, I got a terrible cold, one of the worst I've ever had. I didn't have any breathing issues but I had at least 2-3 weeks of cold/sinus symptoms.
Do you normally have a weakness in your respiratory system? Antioxidants?
I don't think so. I stay pretty healthy. Hardly ever succumb to any flu or colds. I think I caught this one from some of the hordes in Costco, since that was where I was in the week before it got in me. People just cough and sneeze all over the place in there. I hear someone cough and I try to take 20 steps faster ahead of them, but sneezes can travel faster than I can. At least it's over! I never want that back, ever.
So how many of you feel as I do....that what we had was very likely Coronavirus? If it was, it means that we all know a lot more about this threat than we realized and, if it was, it gives rise to many more questions and provides so much food for thought and discussion about what's going on right now. We can get to that, but first I want to see how much consensus we have here.

It just seems obvious to me that this virus has been around for a while. It is funny how on the one hand they say things like "don't trust China" about how many cases they had. But then, we should totally trust China about when exactly the first cases started there (even thought that is likely really impossible for them to know) and the situation when they finally started reporting. It also didn't have to come directly from China. As we know many other countries had it before us.
If you think you had it you might want to see (when this calms down) if you are having any after effects. I do think it is either still lingering in me or damaged my body a little bit. I suspect it isn't permanent.
Doesn't sound like you've ever been to the Bay Area. If you go 2 hours without exposure to someone from China, you've beaten the odds.
Someone recently arrived from the Wuhan area?
