Yes, they shut down dentists here. I'm going to end up losing my tooth because I couldn't get treatment in time to save it.

My step sister was killed via medical neglect because of the shut down. She was 27 years old. We weren't even allowed a funeral.

My primary doctor will only see you if you have a vehicle and stay outside to be seen. So, I am not able to be seen for who knows how long. I have no vehicle. I have no income, so I cannot get one.

My specialist for my auto immune disease is phone visits only. I have almost died from this before and am on chemo to suppress my immune system because it was killing me. If something goes wrong I will likely die because I cannot get medical care for it. My specialist has been shut down since March.

Some of my doctors are more normal except for the masks. Have to wear the ones from the hospital and they itch and break me out. I wore a mask so long at one appointment I ended up with an asthma attack from the allergic reaction. The nurse was shrieking at me to put my mask back on when I took it off to use my rescue inhaler. If I had my breath good enough I would have told her off. It took a while for my breathing to stabilize. I think of this every time someone lies and says wearing a mask won't hurt me. I even got so messed up I was throwing up. When I get a severe asthma attack I often throw up some after my lungs start to breathe again. I have not known why.

One of my neighbors died from diabetes because his nurse was so concerned over watching for signs of coronavirus that she missed the blood in urine and other serious signs. He died hours after his nurse had seen him.

Another neighbor died from lack of medical care, but I didn't know that one really and I forget what they said he had wrong with him.

Trying to find another neighbor who has the same primary dr I do someone willing to drive him there so he'd have a car to sit inside so he can receive medical care. No luck yet. He might have to reschedule.

I had an appointment back in March when the shut down began at a clinic at the hospital. I had to use the restroom and they wouldn't allow me to use the restroom because of the new covid restrictions. Only staff could use the restrooms. I messed on myself. It was humiliating.

I was in physical therapy because of a car wreck. PT was shut down. When it was started back up again, they were having me start off where I was left off, but I wasn't able to do that because it had been so long. Plus, there was haggle over the bill and some other issues. It's a mess still.

I had trouble getting my asthma meds some months since this started. The specialist was very hard to get ahold of. I had some old, expired meds I had to use to get by. I am so glad I had not thrown them out.

They screen everyone, but don't change gloves between people.

The people I know of who got covid are believed to have gotten it from health care workers. So, some people are dying from not being able to get health care. The ones who do get health care are being exposed to, and some even catching, covid.

People need to be seen by doctors when they are sick. This is ridiculous.

We've been busy getting our year end appointments done and have had no problem seeing all our doctors. Doesn't matter if it is the dentist, oral surgeon, dermatologist, orthopedic surgeon or everyone in between. All labs and imaging services have been available and elective procedures scheduled.

My sympathy to those who are unable to see their doctors. Might be time to find a new provider. It appears to depend on the geographical area. Some states are open and it appears some are closing down again.

The doctor doesn't think my kid have Covid but she is not seeing anyone with any symptoms just to be safe. My daughter cleared her symptoms within 4 days. I didn't want to take her for Covid test because it takes too long and it is not a comfortable test. The school has reverted back to online only anyway.

Oh, NO, not your precious va-CAAAAAY-shuns!

If I were an evil person, I would wish your child be stricken with a life-threatening illness that puts him in an immune-compromised state during treatment -- just so you'd know what kind of hell that's like (trust me, it ain't no vacation). But I would never wish that upon even my worst enemy.

Instead, I wish that next time you're enjoying your precious vacation (earned by going to work whether you're spreading your contagion to your co-workers or not) your head is chock-full of images of sick little children whose parents are using their PTO to "vacation" in the pediatric hematology/oncology unit of a hospital, praying to God that they don't bring back some germ to their kid's hospital bedside after going to work (those medical bills hafta be paid, ya know)...something that might actually kill their kid or someone else's who is also there.

BON VOYAGEEEEE!

P.S. 10 years later, my child is fine...no thanks to the likes of people like you

hat is one of the most mean-spirited posts I have ever read.

I personally have never come in sick unless my boss and my job required it, but I know many people who did -- and I never begrudged it. Many people live out of state from their relatives, so if they want to save their PTO to visit or -- GOD FORBID -- actually take a vacation, I don't blame them.

And, yes, I too am very sorry for all the very sick children and their parents, but I would never wish anyone bad luck because they don't hold the images of terribly sick children in their minds 24/7 and do not deny themselves any pleasure because of those images.

Sorry if that makes me a bad person.

Sometimes you need to save your vacation days for something more serious, like a serious illness or death in the family. You are pretty grumpy - you should definitely move out of SoCal.

It's still crazy that people with an illness is denied medical treatment. What if someone has a bacterial infection and needs antibiotics but can't get them because of these types of policies?

When I have symptoms like these, I often am having a bacterial sinus infection and have trouble getting antibiotics because so many doctors want to insist it has to be a virus. Couple of years ago I was sick from end of October until March with a severe bacterial infection that ended up leading to bronchitis and walking pneumonia because I couldn't get antibiotics. I finally went to an emergency room out of town and had to have a breathing treatment and was finally put on antibiotics. I got better within a week. The doctors around here would've let me die. I've never been able to get over a bacterial infection on my own because my immune system is so messed up. I always have to have antibiotics.

I am glad your daughter is feeling better. These policies are concerning. Doctors are supposed to treat sick people.

The answer has been we're working within the state mandates. I have a lump that needs to be surgically removed and the surgeon will not remove it. He has no room in his schedule for something he views as so minor. It's been ultrasound and multiple mammograms. Doctor's offices were closed here for months. It's been an absolute nightmare. I'm a hematology patient and even those appointments have been cancelled. My blood labs can't be done there. I have to find an outside lab to do it. That's been fun! I should have had 3 appointments since March. I've had 1 Teledoc call that cost $385 which lasted less than 10 minutes. Not a happy camper, but there's nothing they can do. A hospital would do nothing for me except charge me thousands for unnecessary tests.

There are lots of people dying from lack of medical care. It's just not right. They wait until people are at death's door to treat them and it's too late for a lot of them.

I rally hope this begins to improve or there will be a totally different kind of pandemic happening.
