I stay busy most of the day and I don't get to eat the traditional "sit down" lunch. What are some healty snacks I could eat( peanuts, dried fruit,etc...) that I could store in my shoulder bag while out all day long?

I eat those south beach cereal bars. They don't spike my sugar and have alot of protein in them. However they can be expensive. Apples are good also. Carrot sticks, almonds.

You could also try meal replacement bars or protein bars.

you can look for a meal/granola type bar that has high protein and fiber. also, along with your dried fruit, you can also have an apple. they stay fresh. There are also some new crackers that I found, they are kellogg's All Bran crackers. they have some that are wheat and some that are garlic and herb. They have 5 or 6 grams of fiber and a lot of flavor. a serving is only around 130 calories.

I like the Nasture's Valley bars and they are relatively cheap and filling. They are found by the cereal/granola bars in most stores.

How about Trail Mixes? I had two bags full that didn't appeal to me. Gave them to my son yesterday to take home. He was tickled to get them. Says he eats them a lot. He lives by himself, so doesn't do much cooking.
