I had a kidney stone about 10 years ago. Im not sure if this is one or not. I woke up yesterday morning with pain above my pelvic bone on the right side. While im sitting down it doesn't hurt. But if i lift my right leg up it hurts. If i sit up while sitting down it hurts and hurt's when i go to sit down. Walking it doesn't really hurt to much. The pain spot is in the pic below where the green dot is. I know its hard to say on here if its a stone or a muscle. But anybody had this pain location that acted the same? It doesnt hurt when i urinate or nothing.

It doesn't necessarily hurt urinating while having a kidney stone, especially if it is farther upstream (the ureters).

Sounds less like a kidney stone to me, and more something else, though I'm not a doctor.

The classic symptoms of an obstructing stone (they don't hurt if it isn't obstructing the ureter) is "colic"-- the repeating pattern of crescendo/decrescendo paiin (usually, but not always) so severe you don't take time to type out a niice forum post and search, cut & paste a very nice illustration. It's often accompanied by sweating/pallor/nausea/vomiting (vagal signs). The pain often shoots down from flank towards the pubic area, sometimes into the *******, and can move as the stone bumps & scratches on its way down the ureter over time.

Aggravation of the pain by physical movements or postures is not a prominent complaint with a renal stone, so when we have that, it strongly suggeests an orthopedic/muscle problem, BUT--

Various maneuvers like that can indicate appendicitis. That's also usually an acute problem, but it starts out slowly and symptoms build over the course of hours, sometimes days or weeks ("chronic appendicitis") Cf- obturator & psoas signs. https://acuteabd.weebly.com/acute-ap...amination.html ...Your "green dot" corresponds to McBurney's Poiint.

edit-- The Thought Police are hard at work today here. The ***** = that wrinkley bag of skin that hiolds the testes.

OP, are you a man or a woman? If a woman, do you still have your ovaries?

I've had the pain you're describing in that same location on more than one occasion from 3 different problems at different times.

1 - slightly dislocated or slipped hip joint which has self corrected itself after a few days of bed rest on a heating pad set on Low.

2 - very slow passage of small kidney stones that were moving along in the ureter

3 - problems with the right ovary which eventually had to be surgically removed

If your problem continues and/or gets worse and more painful after two or three days it may be a good idea to visit your doctor.

Went to the Doctor today he said he didnt think it was a kidney stone, appendicitis, or a hernia. So maybe a muscle of some sort
