If any of you are morning people then you probably have neanderthal genes. Would account for going to sleep earlier.

I hate to admit it, but I’m finally understanding the earlybird dinner
Between it being dark by 415 and waking up at 4:15 in the morning, I’m starving

I worked the night shift for 20 years, and I've never gone back to normal, even being retired. I stay up all night long and go to bed around 9-10-11am, get up around 6-7-8pm. And love ever minute of my night owl lifestyle. Long daylight hours are too painful for me to endure.

Well I used to be worse, because I worked until 4 in the morning back then. I would sleep until noon, go back to work at 3 or 4. But you still win. I'm glad things have somewhat normalized because its tough telling employers you can't be to work at 8 am. They have a bad habit of asking why, but I finally learned to say "I just can't." Or I will make up a lie about working my self-employment job late at night.

My current job starts at 2 or 3 pm and I'm always home by 9 to 11, so those are perfect hours for an aging night owl who NEEDS his sleep.

That is impressive.

Drying it out? I don’t have that issue. I enjoy a big shower, it’s therapeutic.

Yes.

I’ve been tempted to ask, if that means falling asleep on the couch .

Oh, did anyone catch that news part that mentions our sleep is a pattern set up by our previous ancestors and it goes back many, many, many years. It (the news article) came across my iPhone screen, I think as a notification, but wouldn’t doubt that it came from Google.

I go to bed and to sleep early only out of necessity, having to get up at 4am.
Have done that now for the last 17 years, but it doesn’t mean I like it.
If I have a week or 2 off, I almost invariably revert back to the old sleep patterns.
This usually entailed going to bed around 10pm and up around 7-8am.

WIth all the talk about a cold plunge, cold showers being beneficial. I tried to try it, but its just brutally uncomfortable. I dont tolerate well being uncomfortable.
