Hyperlipidemia is treatable. First, with a healthy diet, which you would know is healthy because of the coordination of care between your licensed medical professional and your nutritionist are monitoring it. If that fails, then with meds that lower your lipid levels.
Millions of women are post-menopausal and have low metabolism. In fact, your metabolism slows post-menopause. It's not unusual. The fact that you claim to worry about being "the fattest person I know" because "everyone else" will end up on these drugs, and you claim to only weigh 145 at 5'0" tells me you don't need to lose weight NEARLY as much as you need a mental health professional to help you overcome your need to be thin.
If you know more than your doctor, then get a medical license and heal yourself.
