Stay off those junk food diets for starters. Get more Omega-3's which are found in Salmon, Walnuts and Flax and cut back on pro inflammatory Omega-6's like Grains, Cooking oils and Egg yolks. Some Herbs like Tumeric and Ginger help to reduce inflammation in the body. Lastly try to exercise as there are Gene studies showing that just 20 minutes a day of it can express certain Genes that lower inflammation also.
Came back to add that on TV yesterday, they were talking about foods that were like eating your medication.. They had a doctor on there that said he tells his arhritic patients to eat pineapple, it is found to lessen their pain in 3 days or less.. They didn't say rather the pineapple needed to be fresh or canned. I am going to try it!

Onions also help they are high in quercetin.
Also apples, broccoli, red wine, red grapes or grape juice and tea.
Blueberries. Blueberries are loaded with anthocyanins, a type of polyphenol antioxidant that boosts immunity and protects the body from free radical damage, which triggers inflammation.
Also: blackberries, strawberries, raspberries and cranberries.
