Why is it that if you are 10 minutes late to an apppointment they reschedule you, but the doctors can be 45 minutes late?
I had a PT appointment yesterday and was 10 minutes late, because of an accident on the road (nobody was hurt, but the van was sitting in the middle of the street slowing down traffic). They rescheduled me to next week. When I check in on time they can make me wait 20+ minutes before I'm called back. It doesn't seem fair.
Kinda sucks huh? You can sit and wait for an hour, they still charge you or your insurance full price yet you are late they reshedule and some charge you for missing the appointment.
Ask them and if you don't like the answer switch doctors. Doctors provide a service just like any other service you use. If you don't like it switch. If enough people switch, they'll get the message.
Because not all patients like being rushed during their visit / exam and occasionally some have questions that require answers and sometimes hospitalized patients take a sudden downturn and need consultation and sometimes there are patients who absolutely need to be squeezed in........
If I have to wait too long (past 10 minutes) I go to the desk and say something like, I did have an appt. at 1:00 didn't I; what's the holdup? Sometimes I'll pace the floor. I'm not usually an a** but I think it's rude for doctors or whomever to make people wait for long periods of time and I see that as he/she being an a** so I'll be one too and then when I do go back, I'll make a comment to the doctor.
