THC and cannabidiol aka POT are neuroprotective antioxidants! (pain, smoking, cancer)

Just stumbled across this on Wiki, wanted to share it with everybody:

THC and cannabidiol are also neuroprotective antioxidants. Research in rats has indicated that THC prevented hydroperoxide-induced oxidative damage as well as or better than other antioxidants in a chemical (Fenton reaction) system and neuronal cultures. Cannabidiol was significantly more protective than either vitamin E or vitamin C.[11]

Didn't surprise me at all. Marijuana is one of the most beneficial and important herbs/flowers known to man. Nice to see modern scientific research is starting to prove the benefits of "dope".

Actually it is carcinogenic and kills brain cells.

Of the people I've seen on the stuff they have radical mood changes, memory loss, breathing problems, etc.

There's no doubt that THC has radical health benefits as a pain killer, mood enhancer, and antioxidant.


...all of which are cancelled out by the inhalation of sticky, carcinogenic pot smoke.

Whenever I smoke it I have rapid weight gain.................... it may be from the four pizzas, the extra large bag of Cheetos and thirty seven Ring Dings.

Not sure though.

Eat asparigus. (or smoke it if you really need to smoke something)

I am not in favor of smoking marijuana but prefer other forms (vaporizing, edibles) for my occasional use. Get the benifits of the TCH minus the bronchial irritation.

Well my uncle was a heavy pot smoker and died of cancer at the age of 45. Unfortunately really because he was an interesting guy otherwise.

I am sorry for your loss.

I know someone who is a heavy smoker of both pot and cigarettes for well over 40 years and who at 58 years old is still alive and kicking. It all depends on the individual. People have a right to make their own decisions regarding how they treat their body.
