Amazing. I never knew there were so many, nor so many recently. I wonder what effect the radiation/fallout has had on areas downwind of these explosions, if any?

(Found this on wikipedia: "Fallout radiation decays exponentially relatively quickly with time. Most areas become fairly safe for travel and decontamination after three to five weeks." I thought it would be a lot longer.)
