If in 1939 France or Britain were waiting for the U.S. or the Soviet Union to "bail" them out after the Soviet's had signed a non-aggression pact with the Nazi or that the U.S. was in anyway able or inclined to enter into another European war, those signs that you mentioned would indicate that someone has little to no clue about the history of WWII.

Look up Auschwitz, Treblinka, Belzec, Sobibor, Majdanek, the Warsaw ghetto.
Ask the families of the survivors of those camps, and that ghetto if Poland was right for fighting the Nazis.
Yes and there was forced deportations of Polish civilians, the kidnapping of Aryan looking Polish children to German families, the deliberate destruction of cities by the Nazis in cities such as Warsaw. The execution of dissidents, Jews.
Even though mostly jews went to the concentration camps there were plenty of non Jewish Polish people that went to the concentration camps did not survive there.

My feeling is that the whole argument about the "Phony War," while great fodder for debate is like the argument that the Allies should have fought the Red Army for eastern Europe or even that there was anything realistically that anyone could do about the Soviet annex annexation of the Crimea. All three were a faits accompli. Poland was invaded on the 1st of September by the Germans and the Soviets on the 19th. By the 6th of October, Poland had ceased to exist as a state. How France with the Army that it had - not the one that they had on paper - was to bring about the capitulation of Germany in time to save Poland is beyond my mortal comprehension.
