Dimetrodon is by far my favorite permian reptile. A member of the synapsid clade that gave rise to all mammals, it's mind boggling for me to think that there was A LOT more time between the last dimetrodon and the first Tyrannosaurs than there was between the last Tyrannosaur and the first humans.
