Even if you had outlandish political views be it extreme communist or extreme Nazi and because of your willful practice of those extremes you rendered yourself a survival risk inside your own country, you were an ideal candidate for refugee status in Switzerland. You were able to be as politically free as you want in Switzerland
There were exceptions to this rule though
If the “primary” reason for your run to Switzerland was your being persecuted life endangered or not , regardless of severity of the need to escape harm, no you were not allowed refugee status sorry…. If that’s the primary reason and it’s obvious if it is , no do not come to Switzerland
I guess I understand also this policy had to do with how overcapacity and it’s like how during covid you could go to the hospital for any illness other than covid symptoms but covid you must wait 4 hours at testing stations.
But policy sounds painful doesn’t it if you were Jewish and your family perished after refused Swiss protection but a Nazi in liberated France got in just fine
