Knitting/crocheting, sketching, repairing fountain pens. There were more when I was younger, but the ones that made a mess (papier mache, painting, woodwork) fell by the wayside.
Even though it's fun, I'm not sure about cooking as a hobby. You gotta eat.
Thanks, How does one fix a fountain pen? Thanks for writing back
I have ten thumbs (well, actually two thumbs and eight fat sausage links), I have no interest in crafts, I am an introvert, and I have ZERO mechanical and almost no artistic ability of any kind-- so I don't have any real hobbies except for reading, writing and Sudoku.
I certainly wish I could find some more "mental-type" things that interest me!

Various ways...old (vintage) pens usually need disassembly, cleaning, and resaccing. And you need specialized tools and parts. Newer ones often just need a good cleaning, plus the nib aligned and smoothed.
Railfanning, I love it! You get to enjoy the great outdoors and travel to new spots.
It also helps me hone my photography and video skills. When I want to relax and enjoy
life, you'll find me trackside...

Awesome to hear someone that has something they really love. 😀

I do love catching glimpses of vintage rail cars moving on the rails. I was lucky enough to catch the Barnum and Bailey trains on the last few runs through Houston.
I like to tinker and build things. Home projects keep me busy. Next week its under cabinet lighting in the kitchen. As I get closer to actually retiring I consider many things to keep me busy. Fixing and creating/modifying seem to bring me the most joy.
Same here, Love to fix, improve and even create new things. I have been semi retired since January 1 and just getting the feel of things. I work approx 16 to 24 hours. More on the 20 hour side right now. By the summer I would have trained my replacement and I can go on to small project at 16 hours and the rest of the week is for me. I have liked working 7:00AM to 12:00PM 3 days a week and 1 more hour to do email cleanup and timecard. I have just gotten back to woodworking and want to fix a wicker seat on my shop stool. Amazon had everything I needed. This is the way I want to keep busy... Sounds boring to others I am sure but it's just fine for me.
I have so many hobbies. Woodworking, Leatherworking, Stained glass. I like to cook, Make beer and wine. None of these hobbies interest me 100% right now and would like to hear from others what their passion for hobbies are. I am very interested in hearing what others do.
I'm guessing that your dilemma is that you don't have a hobby that is all-encompassing, and you're thinking that's what you need.
But, for me anyway, I don't have that. And my interests change constantly.
So, maybe your "interest" can just be something like being interested in learning lots of new things.
I personally can't commit to one interest, and that's okay. I can't afford to get super involved in any of my interests. But, who cares?
