I love to knit and I do it daily for shorter or longer periods of time. While I'm on the phone, while I'm watching tv/something online. While I listen to music, while I'm in the car (not driving, obviously).
For me this activity is very relaxing, calming. I've been making different things for friends and relatives. I started to knit when I was 7.
I'm working on two projects these days. Two men's sweaters. One is brown in 100% wool and the other one brown, beige and has some orange accents. 100% wool also. The wool that I use for them is from Jo-Ann. Lion Brand Fishermen's Wool Yarn - Nature's Brown for the first sweater.
I might post pictures later.
Anyone here into knitting? What do you like to knit? What kind of yarn do you use? Any pictures to share?
Any vlogs about it that you like/follow on youtube?

I've only been knitting a couple of years, but I LOVE it and do it daily. It's my zen. I only make hats and scarves, and haven't ventured out into clothing yet.

Yeees, my zen too. It is really calming. My cat loves to sleep in my knitting project.

I knit mostly sweaters, sometimes hats and scarves. I can't do socks. I'm about 1/3 of an arm away from being ready to assemble my latest sweater, a green/gold/orange ombre with set in sleeves.
I also crochet, mostly afghans. I did crochet a sweater but this summer but I don't really like its texture and bulk so I'm thinking of taking it apart and knitting something from the yarn.
Porch knitting sounds great. When the weather is nice, I go out on the balcony and knit. Unfortunately I don't have a garden.
Ombre sweater...nice, love the colors. I knit only sweaters and cardigans, for myself, my husband and friends/relatives. Especially for their kids. I made a few dresses too, for girls.

I’m in 2 needlework groups. One has met, even during covid, because we gather on a porch of a local coffee shop. Our Lions Club knits or crochets lap blankets for a Georgia VA hospital, and our Newcomers Club has a group at the same coffee shop, where you can do any sort of needlework that you are working on.
I go in spurts...knit like crazy for awhile, but then set it aside for awhile.
Yes see www.ravelry.com I am a member there but do not post often.Learned crochet and knitting and hand sewing and embroidery in elementary school in the 1960s.
All are hobbies still but knitting and crochet is very seldom due to OA.

No Ravelry for me, thanks. Not a fan after they went woke.
