And here's the main wall after removing the paneling. I cut out little squares at the top the stud bays and used Atticat blow-in insulation. It filled each bay up in about 20 seconds. Then I resealed the holes.

lol, you are right! I was trying to remember where I'd seen it and I think it was in my DC hotel room last weekend!

lol, I'll give you a buck for it.

Looking forward to seeing more pics!

Looks like they didn't go completely crazy with the panel adhesive, a big plus for you.

New ceiling day.

Rather than try to sand/salvage the popcorn ceiling, I decided to install new drywall over it. So I had to cut the original panels with a 5" hole saw, and then cut the new panels with a 3.5" hole saw. The reason for this is so that the new light fixtures had enough room for the tabs to lock into the drywall. Otherwise, both panels would have been too thick.

As a side note, I can't even begin to imagine how difficult this would have been without the use of this drywall jack. Definitely worth the $30 rental - ESPECIALLY with 12ft panels.

Since this is going to be the main TV room, I wanted recessed surround speakers. So I ordered some Polk in-wall surrounds, and cut out the cavities for them in the wall. I ran the speaker cable up through the wall and ceiling over to the other side of the room.

New drywall day (or week actually...LOL).

I installed new panels on all the walls. Then taped, mudded, and sanded. I forgot to take pictures for most of this part, so I only have this one photo right after I started mudding the screws.

And here's the room after three coats of primer. It's starting to take shape.
