We just purchased insulated drapes, several pairs, and they are wrinkled which I expected. I tried the dryer which helped so I would like to do something other than try to iron them. Has anyone any ideas? Also, do you think a better fabric steamer would work? Thank you.

I threw mine one panel at a time in the dryer along with a wet dishtowel.
All wrinkles gone.

Definitely don't iron them. My husband tried to iron out some wrinkles from some blackout curtains we bought---not good.

Interesting, we recently bought 2 sets. One was real dupioni silk and the other was a synthetic dupioni. I ironed both and they both came out perfect. I even used steam.

I have no idea what that means but my guess is expensive?

Were they blackout curtains that have that thick coating on one side to block out light?

Thanks all! I'm going to try the wet dishtowel idea. I, too, have run into problems with the thermal and also black out liners where you get bald spots but luckily, I tried this with the drapes that were here in the house when we bought it probably put up in the 70's and a pair of clearance blackouts that I had for awhile. Can't afford to made many mistakes with the prices of thermal drapes these days.

The dupioni silk ones are not blackout, but the backside is heavily lined.

The feux one is in the master bedroom (not this color)

The "real" one is in a guest bedroom (this color)
Restful Green Textured Dupioni Silk Single Panel Curtain, 50 X 96 Half Price Drapes Draper

I did also iron the blackout curtains (these are awesome, btw)
