One of these days I will be redoing my kitchen counters and sink. Probably a long ways off, but I like looking at options and keeping abreast of what options are out there. Right now I have a double stainless sink, one side longer than the other - it makes washing 9x13 pans really easy. And I do like the shine of the stainless, when I clean it up with Barkeepers it looks so pretty. That said, I'm not sure that is what I would have again. I just see so many cool looking sinks.

I don't think I want, ever again, a sink that has any kind of grout or seam. I want a clean flush seamless look - I think "seamed-in" is the correct term. But I see others I like as well. These are few of my favorites.

I love solid surface materials, as that is the only way to get a seamed-in sink.

Really don't think I want this...they call it "seamless", but that is definitely a seam, and that seam would just get so nasty.

Love the clean lines...

So, if you have seen (or have) a really great kitchen sink...show me!

For me, the first decision is: one or two compartments. After 24 years with a 2 and 3 years with a 1, I would vote for one.
We have an undercount stainless sink and I do not worry about seams and gunk.

This is the sink I really wanted. Unfortunately, it was not available through my builder so I settled for the same sink without the apron front. Mine is drop in because for now, I'm getting laminate counters. I'll upgrade to quartz in a few years, and decide then if I still regret not being able to get the apron front sink.

I don't understand the appeal of the apron front. Is there some advantage to that style?

Personally, I just like the look of it. But some people say it's ergonomically better because your body is closer to the sink. Not by a huge amount, but they say even that inch or so makes a difference in how you stand at the sink. Since i don't have one and have never used one with any consistency, I can't speak from personal experience on that.

What counters are you getting and what is the overall look of your kitchen going to be? Do you do a lot of cooking or dishes? Those can effect your sink choices.

We had a really pretty porcelain over cast iron sink. It ate dishes like crazy, any time a dish would even just tip over in the sink it would either chip or shatter. When it chipped my DH's favorite coffee cup, that gorgeous sink was replaced with a SS one so fast it was amazing. Haven't lost a single dish since then, though.

We just bought an old house with a double SS sink that has long SS drainboards on either side. Yay!

I have no idea. Really I am just trying to get ideas at this point. Definitely NOT granite. That's my only sure thing I know. I do a lot of baking, a lot of washing dishes. Don't use the dishwasher as much as I should, but I just like to hand wash. I've always had a double sink, and the one I have now, with the one side larger, is great for washing dishes.

We have this sink, I like the attached draining area, we don't have a dishwasher and the draining board is definitely better than having one of those plastic tray things next to the sink.

Oh ... found out that scrubbing bubbles works much better (and quicker) than any other cleaner on this sink
