I am looking for input on finding an electric fireplace that doesn't look like it is an electric fireplace. We live in Florida and are not looking at it as a heat source, just add some interest to a family room that is very plain.

I think I'd just put in a mantle and decorate it as if it were a fireplace. But are fireplaces even found in houses in Florida?

Yes, many homes in Florida do have wood burning or propane fire places. The older electric looked bad and fake.

What is your recommendation for an alcohol fire place. I would be open to looking at one.

There are several manufacturers, and each have at least two or three different models of which to choose from.
Just do an image search of alcohol fireplaces find the one you like and go to that manufactuer's website for details.

How is that a "problem"? Isn't the essence of a fireplace heat?

The EXCEPTIONAL "things" about an alcohol fireplace- no mess, no fuss. No electrical lines/wires, no flue, chimney. No smoke or lingering odors- should I go on???

Default Dimplex is great electric fireplace.

I love mine, but I also love modern design. It is a 62" linear design with a silver frame. I think the flame looks very realistic, it's electric LED, so not much electricity used, and it's as easy as pie to use and enjoy. Ordered mine through Wayfair can be used with or without heat.

Too many people try to write replies in these blogs without fully knowing all facts.

Don't go with fuel recommendations. I went that way with a house in NC and it was a pain in the butt.

Your dimensions, and the dimensions on the website are not the same-hmmmm?

Perhaps you should just stick to what YOU know; insinuating that certain people dont know what there talking about- when you don't even know them leads one to believe that you may not know ALL the facts either. And it would also appear to be YOUR review on the website- first letter in name/screen name/location. It's almost like advertising!

ONE person's pain maybe another's pleasure- seriously, how hard is it to pour some alcohol and light a match?
