I'm redoing a small bathroom - only 30 square feet or so, and I found some really nice tiles to do the floor with. They're 12 x 24, and not only are they exactly what I was looking for, but laying them should be a breeze since it's only going to take a handful of them at that size..

I'm handy and can do all the work, and I enjoy it, but... I'm a guy and TBH the design part of my brain struggles sometimes lol. So I guess my question is how is that going to look once it's done?

Nothing to worry about because it'll look amazingly incredibly awesome? Or.. no, it's gonna look like crap and I should cut the tiles into standard 12 x 12 squares?

Or am I thinking too much and worrying about nothing?

12x24 will look fine in a small bathroom, and will help it look larger. My bathroom isn't tiny but still pretty small, and I went with the 12x24s.

You can see a couple of examples here with even bigger tiles 18x18 and 24x24 and they look great!

Since the bath is so small, consider putting the tile in a herringbone fashion.

OP if you just search around online, you will find plenty of small spaces with large tile. If you look at the pictures, it might make you feel better about it. I have found that they usually look pretty nice. (Even if you look at HD/Lowe's, people will post pictures with reviews on the websites.)

True enough, and here are my actual tiles...

I'm leaning towards a checkerboard pattern though, but either way.. Thanks for the advice everybody.

Yes, checkerboard! (Also my preference.)

Large tile would be great, but the floor would need to be perfectly flat or they would be more likely to crack.
