We are mostly done with our nursery, however we are having a hard time picking curtains. My wife will make them, we just can't decide on color combo's! The bedding collection only includes the valance. Can anyone help?
I would just say think about the light that comes through the window - you'll have the drapes closed in the day and the colour of the fabric will effect the light in the room, as daylight filters through the fabric.
Blue fabric/light can make a room feel cold, so I would go for one of the greens that has the most yellow in it - egg-yolk yellow fabric makes the warmest, softest light when light filters through it.
I would go for a light cotton material with a cream background to let in light w/blue and green pokadots (sp?). The pokadots would add contrast to the stripes and still be cheery.
I would do a yellow...maybe a light purple. they go well with green. (personally I would just leave the valance and put up some blinds to keep the light out. I am a mom of twins and that was SO important, lol!)
One bit of advice (not on curtain color though) is to buy one of those cheap roller shades and mount under the valance and curtain so your little on doesn't wake up when the sun comes up and it makes it nice and dark for nap time!

I will agree with the light-blocking shade, perhaps a low-key, non-fussy geometric sheer? I have some patterns that I am working with right now for a little girls nursery that I would be glad to share, will pm if you would like.
the paint work is so wonderful, I would really hesitate to make the drapes dominate the work.
I absolutely love that dressor and the general room decor is something to behold.
Be careful with blinds because children have been known to hurt themselves with the cords, thats a ways off but it will pass quickly.
I had blinds in my daughters room that would hid behind the valance but would black out the room for a nap, not that she needed it, over them I had off white sheers.
I would go with white/cream, since that seems to be the scheme (blue, green & white). Green curtains on a green wall might be too much green. And that blue might be hard to match. You could also try that taupe/brown color but white would let more light in to what seems to be a dark room.
When it comes to decorating I find it's best to keep the number of colors to between 3-5 so that everything flows together.
