I think it's a little too tight on space to add a table. Maybe if you got rid of the basket, but even then I think there's enough going on.

I would definitely want a small table there to set drinking glasses or whatnot, so, yes.

How about something small like a ceramic garden stool? Big enough for a drink, but small enough to not feel like you have to walk around it. Here's an example:

I prefer having a small table for a drink next to any seating. And that chair looks like a great reading chair. You do have a lot going on in that area. Maybe move the basket and add a very small side table.

Yes.
However; remove the floor lamp and then add a table and lamp- if you absolutely have to have a table!

I think it's fine the way it is.
