Hi, hope someone can offer me some advice. My husband and i went out to buy a new material couch, leaving home we decided that we were going to buy a dark grey material couch. Jazz it up with orange or lime green cushions After a couple of hours looking at hundreds of couches we were unable to decide. On our way home we looked at one more shop, one particular couch jumped out of blue so to speak, lovely desginer shape beautiful soft leather, and comfortable, its a corner couch so the colour will run around the 2 walls.
Even though we have open plan our lounge it relatively small, so the colour will be the main domance. Black, brown is too much, even if we use colour cushions to break it up. white and cream we have had before. On a quick decison we decided on an palish aqua. Its fresh and something different. Now that i have got home im not too sure, Can't find anything about aqua couches on the net or in my house mags. Can some one give me an idea on what colours, or if aqua really is a good idea. As i sit here I can see the sample is fresh but am i going to get tired of this colour quickly......it will be a really expensive mistake.
I have wooden floors and some wood on the ceailing our house is in a loft so we have many angles and open plan as far as the kitchen and lounge go. the lounge is the darkest part of our room, although it gets most of the afternoon sun. Sorry this is so long but maybe someone can help thanks

i love that color--good job being brave!
aqua can be matched with a very clean white or a bright coral color. it's perfect with wood floors...

As long as you like the color and are happy with it, go for it! personally, i love that color. As long as it will blend well with the style of your existing home and accents it will be great.

I say, it's your couch and your home, do whatever pleases you
Having said that, aqua (turquoise?) sounds kinda 70's. My parents had a turquoise leather couch around then.

If you're not sure you made the right decision, and you're second-guessing it, chances are you'd be wise to listen to that "little voice" and cancel the order while you're re-thinking. As you say, it's a very expensive mistake, and reupholstering a couch is about as expensive as buying a new one.

Generally speaking, it's often wise to stick to classic colors in your major pieces, and freshen it up by changing out the accent colors as the mood strikes you --- artwork, rugs, throw pillows, curtains, etc.
