I've never had a screened porch/lanai before and I'm looking for decorating ideas. I'm very visual, so for me a picture would be worth a thousand words.
Please feel free to post away. Any and all comments and pictures are welcome.
Thank you!

Wow!

Thank you so much!

Now I've got some great ideas.

I really like the wicker/rattan with the removable cushions.

I am working on making my patio great. I think it really surprised me how much everything costs.....including plants! It may be the end of the summer before I even get it completed. Personally, I love the curtain look for outdoor spaces. Makes them look all elegant and exotic. I am also partial to wicker/rattan.

Great resources ( I used them, and still do ) :

My Home Ideas
This Old House

I searched Wikipedia for information on my plants outside. I used the Univ. of Illinois portal to find info on indoor plants.

I've been getting quotes from contractors so I can screen my patio. I'm shocked at the prices. They range from $690.00 - $4000.00

I mean, for real how much material could it take??? If I can learn how, find the plans or instructions to build it, I think hubby and I can do it ourselves in a few days. There is already a roof. Just needs a little frame work and the screen.
