I have a few months left on my lease. Have a small dent/scrape behind gas tank. Should I repair this before lease end? Also, what types of things are you charged for on returning lease?
I wouldn't be too concerned about it. When returning a lease, your allowed a certain amount of damage to the vehicle. My father-in-law had the rear door open on his 2009 SUV Infiniti and backed into a tree in the snow. He made a sizable dent in the door, but it still closed. He didn't have to pay a dime when returning the lease, the person inspecting the car considered it operational, since it still opened and closed. It really depends on the person inspecting the car, some can overlook major defects/damage and others and nit pick every little scratch on the car.
On my wife's 2006 Honda Accord, I cleaned her dirty windshield ...with a billow pad. Stupid I know, I scratched the outer plastic coating all to hell. Again when returning the lease, no charges.

TIA - my first leased veh.
If that is the most major issue with the car, you do not need to worry. That is a cheap and easy repair. Most likely they will just touch up the paint issue and leave the dent in when reselling.
You might have equity in the car, go get it appraised as a trade in. Very few people turn in leased cars, since you can usually get some money out it for a down payment on your next lease.
I don't drive much so mileage is only about 20,000 on 3yr lease. Only damage is the ding and minor scrapes under front bumper from a low driveway.
I will definitely check on the equity as well.
