Ummmmmm..................no.
I'm an interior designer, I work in all kinds of homes, middle to high....none of my clients are doing that.
As another poster said, they smell...ewwwwwwwwwwwwww!
wife thinks im nuts??she may be right?? anyway we are going to build a new house and i was thinking of putting in a urinal in the bathrooms, then i wont have to put seat down, wont miss my target, wont get any seat wet??floor wet, lets hear it guys/girls what do you think..........
I think you're right on the money. She's obviously doesn't have much experience trying to hit a target from above when it's dark and you're half asleep, not to mention other weird things that can happen. Tell her she has a choice - a urinal, or a pee bottle by the bed.
Do they stick even if you flush them? I don't understand why that would be. And depending on design they seem like they would be easier to keep clean with a quick spray/papertowel swipe.
I wonder if old(er) guys would appreciate it? Weak stream makes for harder aim but you can cozy right up to a urinal can't you?
I think it sounds like a good idea. If I was a Mom with a house full of boys I think I'd be all over it. But I really don't know that much about them. If you do it, I'd design your bathroom with a half wall or something so you could sort of hide it. I'd also reevaluate the current standard height to more modern standards. Standard toilet heights are just too low these days with taller bigger people. Why comfort height toilets are getting popular.
I would veto that idea right away. I am not cleaning a urinal! If you have a maid that will clean it for you, and it's in its own little room, then okay, but I don't want to sit next to it or even see it. At night in the dark, have you tried sitting down to go (no jokes about getting wet) or having a nightlight in the bathroom, or even using a flashlight for that matter? Urinals are just nasty.
Ummmmm....how many men actually clean bathrooms or do maid work??
Well there ya go... maid work. I doubt many houses have urinals, so maids' exposure to urinals would have to be in public settings with lots of usage by guys who really don't care if they hit or miss. Imagine how much worse the toilets would be in such a scenario if urinals weren't present. Now that would be gross. A wall-hung flush urinal would actually be a lot cleaner because there's less splatter, not to mention being a lot easier to clean.
