Currently have a Hunter XC.
May have bit the dust.
Viewed all Hunter videos to reset.
All I get is 12:00.
Clock does work but can't set time or date or anything else.
Have reset multiple times.
Nothing else works but time on clock.
Unit about 6 years old.

What is a good replacement irrigation controller?

I only use one zone and one time period. Nothing fancy.

Any suggestions for a replacement irrigation controller?

Not trying to be a smart***** but is there a 9 volt and did you try replacing that?

Thanks for responding. Yes there is a small battery.

Telephoned Hunter tech support.
Unit is toast. Circuit board apparently dead.
Hunter XC lasted about 6 years. Outside unit.

None of the big box stores has the Hunter brand nor local hardware store.

Went to HD and got one there and it works fine.

All is a turkey shoot or gamble.

Hunter has better tech support and one can speak with a real USA person.

Not sure of any other brands that may be sold by the big box stores.

If you are handy and can wire up such yourself then brand makes no difference.

Why don't you post this is the House forum so you get more substantive responses? This is not a local Phoenix issue.

I would suggest Sprinkler World or Ewing Irrigation supply. They carry Hunter products and in general, as they supply to contractors, the quality of their products is better than the big box stores.

Wow, there are lots of different controllers out there. Nelson, Hunter, Rain bird, Orbit, take your pick. Personally, I like Hunter. Their pricing is decent, their stuff is straightforward to operate and set, especially when compared to Nelson. Nelson stuff is spendy, and overly complicated IMHO. Hunter is a common brand, and a good unit for the price. Since you are already plumbed for a Hunter, makes the replacement easier to..

My irrigation contractor used Hunter.
And I have to admit, they were really simple to use/program.

Thats why I like Hunter. Their sprinklers are nice, simple units, to set as well. Install the desired nozzle, set the throw, and adjust the difuser. Job done. Personally, I hate irrigation jobs. Lol, I would rather do a crawlspace. Just me though.
