I was washing my face earlier in the bathroom with water still running and noticed how it didn't drain quickly as it normally does....i couldn't pull the plug out to look down the drain...i have an unused bottle of hair and grease drain opener, but not sure how safe it is for that drain pipe? Or should i buy liquid drano? Thoughts/ideas? Thanks.
Try one of those little sink plungers first; plug that little vent hole with your finger or a wash cloth and vigorously plunge. After, flush the drain with a couple of sinkfuls of hot water.

Just try unscrewing the elbow joint under the sink. Often bathroom sinks just clog up from hair right in that elbow. If it's PVC you can usually take it apart either by hand or with channel lock pliers. Then if it's clean, you can just send a snake down the open line. If you're lacking a snake, put the thing back together and dump the drain cleaner in then rinse with hot or boiling water.
Most rental agencies say not to use that stuff on their property but it's usually the go to thing for the maintenance guy when he first shows up.
To keep it cleaned out - occasionally dump some baking soda in, add white vinegar (it will foam up) - and then run water through.
