Hey all.

I've been blindly googling, and not getting anywhere. I figured I would give you guys a try. I'm looking into a loan. The loan will go towards a pre-fabricated tiny home that they will deliver and set up on my lot. I have the lister, the property details, and a major question.

I don't get any further than that, because either I'm not asking the right question, or I don't know how to phrase what I'm looking for. But a pre-fab home follows the same rules that a modular home, or trailer would. It has to sit on a lot. They make community lots, with water and electric hookups? And you pay a monthly land tax, or some such? What if I didn't want to be on a lot? Some people talk about campgrounds, too?
Is there a specific forum, or sub forum that has people doing this too, that can come out of the woodwork for a moment?

Any help would be greatly appreciated in debunking this bit. I'm by myself in this adventure, and could use it!

I don't have any advice to offer, but those tiny homes sure are cute. Good luck!

A home needs electric, water, sewage. Unless you buy land and run those utilities in then you would need to rent a spot that has them installed. Typically this spot rental would be in a mobile home park assuming they will allow your type home in. Some camp grounds have year round spaces you can rent.

You are renting the space your home sits on. You do not own the land. I do not know how the utilities (electric, water, sewage) are paid for.

I say start looking at mobile home parks and/or campgrounds before making any purchases.

Hope this helps.

The people you're buying the tiny home from are no help?

Sometimes it's in the wording on google search. I just tried financing the tiny home. "The" may be a good thing as it indicates an actual thing, not just small home.

I have often looked at tiny homes but haven't put one up. Anyway, here are a few ideas to start:

Had a freind who had one of these "park models" in an RV park.......never took it off the wheels. They are really neat.....I could see myself in one by myself. I have seen these in Truckee, Ca and here in Florida in parks setup for them.
