Getting ready to pick out new flooring for out kitchen and laundry room. I really like the slate look luxury vinyl tile. I don't want ceramic tile--way too cold and hard in the north country and we've ruled wood out mainly because we would have to redo other wood floors that don't need to be redone to get everything to match. We are replacing 20 year old sheet vinyl. Has anyone used this in their house? My parents have it in their guest bathroom and I really like it but not a lot of traffic in there either. Thoughts?

I have seen some installed and it is great looking and just assume it would wear well. Owner said it installs easily.

I had it installed a little over a year ago in my master bedroom, bath and upstairs hallway. It looks beautiful and I have received many compliments. Everyone had to touch it, they can't belive it is vinyl.

I installed them in my art studio. It held up AMAZINGLY well. I mean, I am a MESS. I drop paint on the floor, spill paint water, etc. And they held up so well. I was impressed. The only problem I had was where the floor got the most wear, the tiles separated just slightly from one another. I probably didn't press them quite tightly enough when I was laying the tiles. But, otherwise, I would install them again without hesitation. I got the heavy duty "Moroccan Slate" looking tiles and they hid dirt (and paint sometimes!) and cleaned fairly easily. I had to use a razor scraper in a few places and even that didn't affect them.

We had it in our previous kitchen. It was definitely warmer and softer than ceramic or slate would be. That was several years ago, and we've been back a couple times since - no glaring signs of wear (but I didn't exactly get down and inspect it).

What brand did everyone use? Did you use the individual tiles you can grout or we were also looking at the Allure planks that are 12x36" I think and stick together--no grout. My parents have the Armstrong (??) ones.

My in-laws got the kind where you also use the special grout and it looks exactly like tile. They could not be more pleased. If I had to re-do my floor I would use it. They used the Armstrong.

We used the Allure vinyl in our pantry and we were impressed with how it looks, although we'll probably be replacing our pantry flooring towards the end of our renovation so that all the rooms have the same material (wood).

I used the Style Selections Luxury Vinyl Plank in two rooms in my house.

One room is a small bedroom that we use as a home office, the other is a multi-purpose room (sewing/craft room that doubles as a guest bedroom for visiting family). I'm very happy with it. I had to do something quickly after we bought the house because the carpet we inherited was atrocious. It was inexpensive and easy to install.
