He have 3 bedrooms, a hallway, and a 14 step staircase. How many hours will it take to pull the carpet, bring in the hardwood from the truck, install, and then clean prefinished?

Probably more than one very long day but less than two for prefinished...

The new flooring should be brought into the house a couple of days earlier to acclimate to the interior climate conditions.

@K'ledgeBldr

sot.. does labor for installing wood floors generally cost more/less/same than tile

say you were deciding on wood or tile to cover a 1000 sq ft area and the materials were roughly the same cost, is one more labor intensive than the other and warrant a higher labor cost?

lets say this is new where you are not removing anything...just slab in the area

In my last go around. Install 800sq ft. Remove carpet, remove carpet tack strips, remove shoe molding. Glue down of pre-finished engineered hardwood over a concrete slab. New molding.

2 men, 1 and 1/3 days so 20 man hours.

I had one price for entire job, removal, materials, labor,. etc.
