Which is better? Should I pay more for Erie? or take the deal from Geico? I"m shopping for home owners insurance now...rookie! I don't know what to do. keep Erie that I've had for 10+ years or save close to 200 bucks with Geico but have a deductible of 1000? compared to 500 with Erie ? I realize that when you save money up front, you end up paying down the road..there are no real "deals" anymore. I'm no dummy. but we would like to lessen the monthly costs. any advice would be appreciated...like if anyone has experiences with Geico, how do they do when it's claim time?

I would say Erie is a lot better.

If you changed the deductible with Erie to $1K (to match GEICO), how do the rates compare?

Never had GEICO for home but about 30 years ago I had them for auto and as I recall, they sucked.

Well, when you're penny pinching, the deal seems nice. We'll see! Hopefully we won't need to make a claim.

You are comparing apples and oranges!

What is Erie's price with $1000 deductible?
What is Geico's at $500?
