We have a really nice and large master bathroom but the toilet is in a separate room with no room for a bidet. I have always wanted a bidet after living where they are part of every civilized bathroom.

So I've been looking at the portable bidets on line. Then DH reminded me it would be COLD water. No Thank You. He says it would be extremely expensive to run plumbing to this area for hot water. So I'm wondering....isn't there some type of little water heater which could be used to hook up to a bidet? Like maybe just enough water for one individual use. We have an instant hot water heater under the kitchen sink which basically a tiny little water heater. Does something like this exist for a portable bidet?

You could just get one of those small, plug-in kettles like kids use in dorms.

Or change the toilet you do have for one of the toilets with a built in bidet.

Right, but if you only need a drinking water source, it's far easier to just attach a cup to the toilet with a chain.

Get a Toto Washlet toilet seat. Here is a basic model: TOTO SW844#01 Washlet E200 Elongated Front Toilet Seat, Cotton White - - Amazon.com

Heats the water for you. I have one and highly recommend them. They are definitely not a gimmick.

As Mater discovered, the Japanese, famous for their cleanliness, have been using them for decades:

But it would still need access to hot water wouldn't it?

We have a Toto bidet seat and love it. The water is not warm warm, but it is not ice cold either. Tolerable.

You have to have a plug-in near the back of the toilet.

Some do, but I was thinking that if you are somewhere that already has cold water, getting hot water to that spot is likely to be easier than most other places in the house.
