Are French drains and perimeter drains one and the same thing or are they different? If they are different how are they different and which one is better?
A French drain is a type of drain. A perimiter drain is the location for a drain of any type, which can include a French Drain. However french drains are not always on the perimiter of a foundation. We have one along our driveway.
I have home on hillside. Have French Drain at bottom of hill next to the foundation of the house. It pumps the hillside rain water to a pond in the pasture. NW Arkansas has had an abundance of rain the past 6 months. When it dries up, it has a funky odor. It's 88 ft long what can I apply to fix the current problem?
