Just wondering how much it cost for you. People have been telling me that it's cheaper than building out which I thought was rather surprising.

Yes; in most cases its more "cost efficient" to "go up" than out. Mainly because you already have a foundation to work off of. Cost will vary across the country, and by other factors; like, within the existing roof line or complete tear-off. Size of garage/floor system sizing. Then there's the proxcimity of the main waste line and connecting the new bath. And the list goes on and on...

Not to mention if you would even be allowed (hgt restriction, HOA, or other bureaucratic BS).
