My ventless gas fireplace has worked fine until I added the onyx glass pebbles in the bottom. Since then, when I turn my blower on the flame goes out. Clearly the glass pebbles have caused the problem. Anyone know of any easy fix?
I’m thinking maybe there isn’t enough oxygen getting to the flame and when you turn off the blower all the oxygen is sucked away…… just something to think about. Maybe try and remove “some” of the glass pebbles away and see what happens?
Aksarben is probably right on the money, there are safety mechanisms on the newer gas/propane units that will shut it off if it doesn't sense enough fresh air and the blower is causing it.
You might be able to add some oxygen to the area of the flame by placing several small copper tubes under the pebbles so airflow can take place. It’s worth a try if you want to keep the pebbles and have a flame burning.
