Why are you so eager to push an important topic (to some) into a section that may not likely be seen?
If anything, I would think putting it in Politics or Current Events would get far more attention than it would here.
I would agree with him that this forum doesn't seem like the appropriate place for it where it seems political in nature. I had this thought before even clicking the thread.

We aren't talking politics. We are letting homeowners know so they can be more choosy of their HVAC manufacturer and chose an American manufacturer that is actually IN America.

I'm still waiting for the answer to "what HVACs are still made in the USA".
I've been researching that very thing. A couple of years ago, Rheem made big news when it made the move to Mexico. We also stopped doing business with them.
There are some other HVAC companies already down there, but they are smaller or more specialized (such as Bard, who manufacturers oil furnaces), and we never did business with them to start with. They are not any of the big manufacturers we are all familiar with, such as Amana & Goodman.

If I take the literal meaning of your question- none.
In general terms, there are several. But there's a big difference between "manufactured" and "assembled". Just as there's a difference between "assembled with US made parts" or "assembled in USA". Either way it's a convoluted mess that becomes political in nature- which THIS forum is not about.

I personally don't give a rip about the politics. There ARE some American companies still manufacturing in the United States, giving JOBS to Americans, and that is what I thought this post is about.
If I'm wrong, I'm out. I couldn't care less to be dragged into a political discussion so everybody can argue about it.

Which America? North or South?
This forum is a great place to go for the do it yourself guy. This is a great forum for the person that wants ideas on their home.
This thread is more for current events, politics, or other. Just because a company is trying to save money by building something somewhere else does not cut it for this specific forum.
Why no discussion on how the unions have destroyed America by asking employers to offer more time off, more money, more benefits. Did the Unions ever ask the employees; Do you prefer jobs or do you want companies like Carrier to build their units in Mexico where they can build them for less? I don't see any unions working with anyone but their own interests.
You want to build them here? Then realize that many other places can build them cheaper. So what proposal do you have for staying competitive? Are you willing to get rid of the red tape that Government strangles business with? Nothing personal here, but if you can build something cheaper somewhere else that is what you do.
I say that this is the greatest nation on the planet. I say we the people can find ways to compete with other nations. To do that we the people have to offer concessions. We need to be willing to stay competitive. If we can do that here then I am all for it. If a union is not willing to negotiate or wants to strangle a company for its last penny then I am not for that.
The article stated that the average wage was almost 50k per year. That is way more than a company can afford to pay for basic labor in today's global economy.
