I vote for donate. What I don't recommend is storing it away for later...did that once with about 40 bags of chips (absolutely no children showed up trick-or-treating that year (nor did any show up last night)) and so I put all of the bags of chips in the basement as a temporary storage location. Unbeknownst to me, a contractor who had been working on the house had put a hole in the foundation and left it wide open.

Mice in the neighbourhood (and probably all of their slacker relatives too) had a resulting partay once they discovered the hidden stash...

What you're supposed to do after Halloween is sneak in the middle of the night to steal candy from your kids. And keep doing that, night after night, till it's all gone. If the kids notice, you can give them some lame excuse about leftover ghosts from Halloween stealing the candy. Or if you're talking about leftover candy you didn't give out because there weren't enough trick-or-treaters, your kids are supposed to steal that from you.

I ALWAYS buy what I like-Hershey's bite size. Where we used to live (literally a block away), we would go through 10 bags of them. Sometimes we would even run out. The last couple of years, I bought my usual 10 bags but we only get half of the kids. Very strange for only a block away. I figured it is our road which is very busy-complete with trucks and most kids don't want to cross. Next year, I'm not going to buy as much-or maybe I will buy the FULL-size and then we will have kids from far and wide coming to our house. So, now we have 5 bags of Hershey's left. It is going to be a tough job but SOMEBODY has to eat it.
