This. Unfortunately, this seems to be 'going over and above'. I can't believe how some do so many destructive and dirty things.

My a/c installers were awesome. Did really great with this. Their tip was a room air conditioner going full blast. Normally they are dying in attics with no a/c. I can't even imagine what the temps up there must be.

I had a bedroom set delivered on a hot day. They did an awesome job setting up and putting everything together. gave them some water, and $20 each (there were 3 guys) for about 30 mins of work. They appreciated it.

Disclaimer: I've always been a heavy tipper.

When I've had furniture delivered, there are generally at least two guys and I've usually given them $5/piece. If they were delivering a lot of furniture and putting it together, I'd probably give them $10/piece. Unless they pissed me off.

I had a curbside delivery of a 480 pound gunsafe. The guy pulled it up the length of my very steep and long driveway on a little handcart. I tipped him $30. I thought he earned it.

anyone that delivers anything to my apartment gets a generous tip, as I live on the 4th floor of a walk up.
It would be inconsiderate, not to.

I think I tipped $15-$20 per person when I had my furniture/bedroom set delivered last year. After some thought, though, I don't think I tipped when my mattress sets where delivered as I figured that I'm already paying a deliver fee, so why would I tip on top of that? If I pay a delivery fee (which is generally pretty hefty in my experience), I will not be tipping in the future, unless the delivery guys go above and beyond the call of duty.

I typically tip delivery guys $20. I figure they save me a lot of trouble, the least I could do is buy them lunch. I've only had a large desk, massage chair, couch, and wash/dryer delivered. Everything else has been moved my myself and some friends (who are paid in beer and BBQ).
