Since I have an open floor plan, it's my dining room/kitchen/living room which are all one room. I float from one area to another. My son and I use our computers on the dining room table, along with playing board games, etc. and of course eating there, so that's the area we use the most. But I'm also back and forth between the kitchen and relaxing on the sofa. It's all good.

Throughout the day I "live" between my living room and kitchen...but my bedroom is where I find heaven at the end of the day.

For me it is my bedroom, my oasis.

I don't get what you mean, exactly? A house isn't a pair of shoes, I mean my house is where I spend literally 95% of my time. I work from home, I enjoy entertainment at home, it's pretty important that it's special and works perfectly for me. It's literally where life happens.

My favorite room is our daylight basement, it's about 750 square feet two floors below the bedrooms. In it, I have an air hockey table, arcade cabinet (running MAME, so many games), virtual pinball (running many pinball cabinets virtually speaking with a physics engine and full feedback, so you can hit the side of the cabinet and the virtual "ball" actually does move as expected), a home gym setup with a bench press / Smith Machine / squat rack combo and a pulley system separately plus free weights, then a sectional couch with a 75" 4K TV and a 65" HDTV for guest video gaming. The primary TV has a very large output 7.1 surround sound system that's all wireless (Klipsch). It also has a 75 gallon fish tank and some of my sports memorabilia.

The basement is where I have most of the fun obviously, the bedroom floor is where I sleep and do my work (one of the bedrooms is my office), so for me, when I get to go down to the basement, that's the best part of my day. Relaxing, playing games, watching movies, etc. It's also where friends and I hang out, so I like the separation of space between work / sleep and fun times, it gives me a mental break.

I like just about every room, but my faves would be (in no particular order):

parlor. Neither kids nor dog are encouraged to go in there, so it is pristine and serene. Has a nice 75 gallon fish tank for ambiance.

master bedroom

family room - I don't really hang in there, but like the wall of glass doors the overlooks the pool and backyard.

kitchen

I mean that like you people have too many ties to materialistic things . I just don't care that much about material things like some people . a house is just a house it is brick and mortar and nothing more .

We have one also. People say it relaxes them to sit and stare at it. Not me. I notice the water level is down, so I put some water in. Stare - Oh wait on of the filters is not working right - fix that. Stare- the snails are not doing a good job getting the green stuff off the glass - scrub. Stare - the fish look hungry - feed. Stare - that fake plant base come out of the rocks - put it back. Stare - why is the fish food on the fireplace mantle instead of in the cabinet - move it. Stare - there is too much crud in the rocks, I have better suck some out and do a partial water change. . . . This is too much work, I am not going to look at the fish tank any longer. I will go chop some wood it is easier.
