I am still ticked off that the original 1939 Wedgewood gas stove was lost from my house. Now THAT was a stove.

By the way, the older gas and electric stoves don't really have a defined lifespan as there's nothing electronic in them and everything that can fail is easily replaced. It's getting harder and harder to buy repairable kitchen appliances. Now that they're starting to add electronics to toilets, by the time I die those probably won't be user serviceable either. Grrrr.

When using the self cleaning cycle do it when you can have the windows open on a breezy day...

Hahaha, sometimes there is no choice!

I live in a 942-s.f. condo, two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom, and LR/DR. You can stand in the center hallway where the smoke detector is and do a 360 and view the whole place. The kitchen is right there in the middle of the condo between the DR and one of the bedrooms.

My self cleaning oven specifically said to not use chemical cleaner on the oven. It damages the surface and then you shouldn’t use the self clean option. If I need to clean my oven between self cleans I use plain old soap and water.

If I recall correctly, the Easy off can also says to not use it in a self cleaning oven, and may make one for self cleaning ovens.
