Footloose was OK. Animal House with "Thank-you sir, may I have another" and "Remain calm" were movie classics. If I'm going to watch bad 80's movies, Patrick Swayze is a bit better.
Bacon is kind of like donuts. Nutritionally awful comfort food that I eat on rare occasions.
I'm 60. I grew up with an electric percolator in the house. That morphed into dad doing a stovetop percolator that might have been Revere or was at least in that style, and mom doing one cup Melita cone drip coffee. I'm French press midweek, single cup 'gold' metal filter drip coffee when I'm in a hurry, and drip coffee maker on weekends. We have a 2 cup (well, 2 mugs) French press with the glass cylinder carafe. The problem is the 2nd cup gets cold quickly. What I should buy is an insulated carafe French press in a couple different sizes.
It seems like I use a lot of coffee....3 heaping tablespoons for one cup/drip method
...but I hate weak coffee.
For a 12 cup pot, I'll need what? It can't be 36 tablespoons!
I have an (old) stainless steel measurer, and on the side it reads: 1-1/2 tbsp. I use 2 of those per 3 cups and it works for me. I like it a bit stronger than 'medium', and I put milk in mine. I also put milk in my tea. (a Yankee thing)
Very similar to my Farberware percolater Kyle … thought I would love it, but not practical for me, too much fussing to make coffee … so it sits on the shelf in the closet with its other perc relatives. It is very sturdy and worth the $50 or so I paid for it. on Amazon. Try the Cuisinart for another $45 or so, you won't be sorry.

What kind of fussing???
Just bought a Hamilton Beach for $45...looks very similar to the above. We shall see...but no glass knob. They seem to all be plastic now of course.
