This looks like an old timey version of a Kohler luxury shower. The one that’s like a car wash blasting from all angles. Is it?

That one is very similar to the shower shown in the Mott's Iron Works Plumbing Catalogue ca 1914. It would definitely get you clean very quickly!

There’s no bell- it’s a shower head.

It looks like a decontamination shower!

Frankly, it looks like something from a hospital or mental institution, designed to wash someone not being entirely cooperative in a minimum amount of time.

Note that the valves are on the outside, not reachable by anyone actually in the center of the heads.

That's because — see prior post — it's for ding-dongs!

No, it was operated by one's valet. Only the very wealthy people had these installed in their homes, and they didn't wash themselves. You all have overactive imaginations.

Well, I won't say your contention is wrong, but not only is this a very institutional-looking shower, but I've seen very similar ones in hospitals and mental institutions. It's all a bit stark and industrial for even an early-20th mansion, even given that personal-room stuff from that era looks pretty... industrial.

No overactive imaginations here.

Yeah it's in a home...but it is a bit odd for sure.
