Sorry - I stopped reading after "the house is 6000 square feet", but apparently they also still needed a finished basement that is 2000 square feet.
LOL.

I don't think you need to bring them anything.
That includes the basement. It's 2000sq ft per level-3 levels
I also think that you don't need to bring anything. Your presence is probably all they need. But if you really want to bring something, probably something simple would be best. What if you buy them something that you would want, but they have no desire for? And it's not like they are giving you back a gift. I'm sure they just want everyone to have a good time and enjoy their basement. You said that whenever you get together you both bring alcohol and food. So that should be the best bet. Nothing fancy, after all you are probably not the only guest and everyone else is also probably just going to get them some booze. Remember it's just a housewarming gift. Some Omaha Steaks will probably be just fine.
Since they have a wine fridge, I would suggest getting them the Coravin wine system. If they like some nicer wines but don't want to drink the whole bottle...

I agree with your thoughts. But if they can afford a house like this, they ain't gonna be impressed with the (lack of) taste and quality of Omaha Steaks.
