I am trying to build a 1" PVC parallel bars for my 4 year old daughter.

I need 2 tee joints to strengthen the set up. However, I can only find a tee that allows 3 pipes to joint. I am looking for a tee type that allows 2 pipes to joint meaning a pipe will go straight through, glue, and then another pipe joints to make a tee. Please send me a name or a link where I can find it

I am looking for this type of tee -

3 ends tee - can be found at Home Depot but I can't insert a pipe through it.

Is this meant to support her entire weight? What's the span?

McMaster Carr is likely to have something: https://www.mcmaster.com/products/fi...s=pvc+fittings

The span is only 28 inches. From online videos I have seen, it seems like it should be OK for my 36 lbs daughter.

For the purpose of running water through the pipe of course this structural tee joint makes no sense. I am not sure if it even exists.

Of course, I can cut the pipe but I prefer the pipe to be whole, structurally it is stronger.

You won't find it. Just get a section of 3/4" metal EMT and put it inside. It'll be MUCH stronger and safer.

I don't see how this will be strong or stable enough for a kid to play on.

1" PVC/Sch40 has an ID of 1.029

1" metal conduit has an OD of 1.163 (too big), and 3/4" conduit is 0.992- just a bit undersized.

1" wood dowel is 1"- that leaves just enough for a good glue joint. Cut 1" dowel in about 12" lengths and put about half in one pc- add the tee- then the other pc of PVC- that should be pretty rigid.

I don't expect that you would find such a thing. They are made for plumbing, to accept 3 pipes that are glued in and there is the stop inside. If you really need it to be free moving within, you could try to drill out the inside, but that would be tricky and probably dangerous. You could also use a smaller diameter that would fit inside, like the metal conduit or dowel mentioned above.

Yeah, I don't think PVC is a good idea, as the kid grows, at some point it won't hold her weight. It might be more practical to just buy a "monkey gym" at a hardware or home improvement store.

What you are describing sounds like a "cross". Not very common, but I know I've seen them in the plumbing department of Lowes. You could also try an online place such as www.supplyhouse.com.

Edit... Nevermind... I just reread what you wrote and a cross isn't what you're looking for at all.

I agree with the others that pvc pipe most likely isn't strong enough anyways, and when it breaks it can shatter, which could be bad.

Might want to go back to the drawing board on this one.
