I use a company twice a year they check air conditioning, then heating and it’s been worth it. They usually catch problems before they get worse.

When I had to change filters every month (don't have to do that now that I have a new system which only requires a filter change once or twice a year), I was about to buy the filters that get sent automatically once a month. That would at least force me to think of the system. I still would have had someone come service it and look it over once a year though. I've had that for decades.
