Hello,

I am in the Northwest (NW) part of Houston, near Willow Brook mall since the last couple of weeks due to work. I will be here for a while more.

I am single, and often have dinner alone as I do not know too many people here.

Can you please recommend me some must try places to eat at (dinner, breakfast/lunch/dinner on weekends). I would like to identify some places in the area at which I can have dinner on weekdays, and other places anywhere within a 30-45 min drive where I will be glad to drive to on a weekend.

I have a car.

Looking forward to your suggestions. If anyone is up for a meal together, drop me a note. No, this is not a dating call!

Thanks,
wonderfultravels

Open to all types of cuisine, local restaurants and any especially good chains. I have tried Lupe's Tortilla, Pappasitos, Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden, PF Changs so far, as you can see mostly boring chain restaurants...

thanks

There is a good Italian Place on Kuykendahl right at Cypress Creek, Woerner Rd. They have the original one in the Heights and opened one up there at the Lodge. Very reasonable and very good.

If you like Asian buffet, try Tokyo One close to the intersection of 249 and FM 1960. Pricey but they have a good selection.

If you drive 249 North to Louetta Rd, turn right to the Vintage Park Shopping Village. There are several restaurants to choose from. Wacky Mongalian Grill & BBQ or Cheeburger Cheeburger are good places with decent prices. Peli Peli is African Fusion type of food. Vintage Park is new and very nice to stroll around.

If you want Texas BBQ, I suggest Rudy's Bar-B-Q on 290.

If you like Persian food and do not mind driving , I might suggest Cafe Caspian. I ate there last weekend and the food was wonderful.

Cafe Caspian - Westchase - Houston, TX

Around the same area is a very good Peruvian restaurant called Lemon Tree.

Thanks for all the replies so far, much appreciated. Does anyone know the 'Italian Place on Kuykendahl right at Cypress Creek, Woerner Rd. They have the original one in the Heights'?

I tried Tokyo One and did not enjoy it that much, but maybe because I had the chicken? I will definitely try the African place, Persian place, and this Italian place.

Please keep the suggestions coming...thanks so much

Thanks,

My favorite - Red Fish - up 249 on the right, about Louetta. Great sushi, but also an inventive menu of other things. Try the duck in port sauce. Great seafood.

Go to "Red Onion Cafe" on 290 and pinemont. Get the "chicken tiqual" plate.
